Do you have a winning Game Plan?

There are many analogies when it comes to strategy:

  • Strategy is like a roadmap to help you find your way,
  • It’s about putting together the right weapons and tactics to help you win your war,
  • It’s a plan of action…

Personally, I like to lean heavily on references related to playing a game. Choose whatever game you like – I’m a rugby fan myself.

In other words, strategy is your Game Plan.

It’s about identifying your strongest players, knowing where to put them on the field to utilise their strengths, sussing out the other team, and then, when the whistle blows, having awesome tactics to leave the competition in the dust.

Strategy is also about asking the right questions:

  • What is the problem?
  • Why do we have this problem?
  • How do we fix it?

Answering those three questions gets you your basic strategy framework…your Game Plan.

The most important question however is: What is the result?

That’s the question you ask at the end of the game. It’s what’s on the scoreboard. You put your best team on the field, threw your best moves at the other guys, and what do you have to show for it?

Did you win, lose or draw?

Great coaches watch hours and hours of post-game footage, searching for those brilliant break-out plays that scored a try, noting down the missteps and fumbles that cost a penalty. Being able to identify the wins and the losses is what strategy is really about.

As a Digital Agency, Rogerwilco is made up of people who LOVE the results question. We live, sleep and breathe that question.

We believe in Smart Strategy and we put the work in upfront on crafting a solid Game Plan. We have an impressive list of players to call on: SEO, Content, Web Development, Creative Design, and Social Media to name a few.

Game Plan in hand, we execute it using the very best platforms available and we watch the game unfold play-by-play. We’ll make on-the-fly calls if we need to, adjusting the plan to ensure we take the very best advantage of the action happening on the field.

We work the plan every step of the way until that final whistle blows.

And then we get stuck into analysing the final score on the board. We look at analytics, data, segmentations, content…we look at where we scored a try and we also look to see if we had any fumbles. We sweat the small stuff to make sure that the next game we play – we do even better.

We do this because we love to win. We love to win on strategy and we love to win the game for our clients.

At the end of the day, strategy is about putting together the very best plan you can…and trying your damndest to win the game.
